Champion and Grand Champion trophies will be presented to both
classifications: Middle/Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools.
A champion will be determined for Middle/Junior High Schools
and for Senior High Schools in each of seven categories of competition by the
highest numerical score regardless of class where there is competition from
another school. Middle/Junior High Schools will compete against other
Middle/Junior High Schools. The FIESTA-VAL CHAMPION TROPHY for Mixed Chorus,
Men's Chorus, Treble Choir, Chamber/Madrigal Choir, Gospel Choir, Show Choir,
and Jazz Choir, will epitomize excellence in performance.
At each festival an overall champion will be determined for
Middle/Junior High Schools and for Senior High Schools by combining an
Excellent or Superior score from one of the following performances: Mixed
Chorus, Chamber-Madrigal, Treble or Men’s Choir, with a Superior or Excellent
score from any other choral performance. The combined scores must average
either Excellent or Superior for this distinctive recognition to be awarded.
In addition to being presented the Grand Championship Trophy,
the director(s) of the winning groups will receive the FIESTA-VAL AWARD OF
DISTINCTION in recognition of a notable contribution to musical excellence.
(In the event of ties, like awards will be made to the tying
groups.)
Rating Only: Plaques will be awarded for
Superior and Excellent performance.
Competition: Trophies will be awarded to the
groups having FIRST, SECOND, and THIRD highest scores in each division.
Plaques will be awarded for Superior and Excellent performance.

Soloists trophies are awarded at the discretion of the judges,
regardless of division, in each of the seven catagories.
An Outstanding Accompanist award may be presented.
